I Do Blame it on Rafa

I am sad to say that my predictions earlier in this EPL season is becoming nearer to reality. I was telling people that the Liverpool would have a bigger chance of being 'kicked' out of the Big Four.

The pre season went badly. I remember we only wons when facing super super minows, like Singapore. Againts almost everybody else, we barely perform. Lost to teams like Rapid Vienna, Espanyol, Athletico Madrid. Drew with Thailand. And thats using the core of the team from last season, minus Alonso of course.

I just dont understand Rafa's insistence on zonal marking. Statistics this year has shown that most of Liverpools' goals conceded are via set pieces. With Cara and the whole lots of the defenders being shaky up to now, and with goals being leaked in, why are we still continuing the system? Why are we expecting different results when we are doing the same things over and over again. At least if we do not leak goals, we wont LOSE!!!!

And now, Stevie G and Cara went on record saying Liverpools season will improve. Pardon me, but I do have the feeling that everytime those two are quoted with such, Liverpool never improves in the next game.

Furthermore, failure to qualify for ECL 2010/2011 will be catastrophic to Liverpool. With the amount of debts the Americans have. People might say MU also have bigger debts. But we have to admit, Anfield is much smaller. Differences in gate collections are enourmous between these two grounds. My deepest fear, Liverpool going the Leeds road. God forbid.

But, Red for life. YNWA.

Liverpool Season 2007/08

There goes the season. Another year without any silverware. And it worst realizing it is gonna be either MU or Chelski whose is gonna win the Premier League and/or Champions league. Another win for Sir Alex and they will be so much closer to the Reds all time League wins record. Sigh....

And Riise, I fault him for the own goal. Trying to be clever by using his head when his feet will do just fine. I supported him to rise again and play significant parts to enable a famous Liverpool comeback at the Bridge, maybe scoring a couple a goals.
But more importantly, I fault him for both Drogba's goals in the CL's semi final la. On both occasions he stopped running, one of which allows Drog to collect and score the ball parried by Reina. The second time, Riise lost Anelka, enabling the Sulk to cross the ball. I have always thot Riise is a wonderful player. I like him al lot. I wonder whether his lost of form is because Rafa kept leaving him out from the first team or Rafa leave him out because of the lost of form. But as rumours have it, Riise wont be here next season.

Screw the Americans. Why the hell someone as initially loathes as the Glaziers can get it so right, but those as supported as the Hicks and Gillett can get it so wrong?

Liverpool... 11 Games Later.

I ve said it isn’t it. Liverpool FC‘s season seems to be going down the drain. We might not even moved on to the next group stage of the Champions League. From top to seven within 2 months.

The draw againsts Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers highlighted that we can’t pass the ball forward.Nobody want to take responsibility of the ball. If the ball is passes to a Liverpool players leg, they will kick it off quickly and sometimes blindly to a teammate. Keep the ball moving should be good ma. But very bad when sideways and backwards passes are completed. When passed forward, the passing will be horrendous. It will either be kicked too hard, too weak, or straight to a opponent’s leg. One touch football is only good when the player you passed the ball to is able to control it or he is not from the opposing team.

And they are still not willing to declare crisis at Anfield. Tolonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng.

I am f*****g worried!!!!

Saw the matches against Shenhua and Feyenoord. Looks like we are going to have the same problem as last season. Ball dominations without clinical finishing. The match against Feyenoord should demonstrate quite well why I felt this way. Chances after chances are wasted. Balls are crossed blindly into the penalty box. Our players hardly touches the ball inside the oppositions' penalty box.
Kewell and Pennant showed up short again. Voronin is non existence, Kuyt is running around again being busy but still not scoring (the disallowed perfectly scored goal notwithstanding), Alonso seems disinterested and hardly passed forward, the back four were caught asleep, and even Stevie G gave up after half time.

This season is suppose to be our best with the new attacking-minded signings, but I dont really see any of them giving their all. Torres and Babel's scoring record with us is still very disappointing. Benayoun is an exception in giving his all but somehow kinda lack a great player's qualities to grab a match.

I am f**king worried!!!!! I hope I am wrong!! Reds for EPL champions!!!!
ps: a friend told me Charity Shield winners never win the league in the same season. So there goes MU.
And an earlier version of this post posted on a sport forum out there.

Football

Woke up this morning. Like usual, switch on the tv to Channel 80 Astro for some sport updates. Eurosport news is always on at these time. A live football game seems to be on. The score three to nothing. It must be the Malaysian national team. Normal-lah, kena belasah while falling to score. The defence is horrible, the midfielders are non existence and the strikers running around doing nothing.

But then I realised, although they are wearing stripe jersey, the colour isnt the malaysian colour of yellow and black. Is my eyes playing some kind of tricks on me? Has the Malaysian national team change their colours to light blue and white?

Then it hit me like Ayala's own goal. Its the Argentinians. The game is the Argentina-Brazil on the Copa America 2007.

And some soh hai argie supporter (in BM) actually stayed up to watch the whole match.

hahahhhhahahahhaha

ps: somebody fowarded this to me
